My road to becoming a realtor has been winding.  I’ve been a wedding planner, a professor, a training consultant, a fire-fighting instructor and a destination specialist before becoming a realtor.  While each of those positions is dramatically different, a consistent element has allowed me to be a helper.  At my core, that is what I am.  I have really enjoyed helping others to make their day memorable, their learning experience rich, their training proficiency safe, or to learn all the secrets of their new city.  For the last several years, I’ve worked for a company that settles executives being relocated to the Pittsburgh area.  Many are moving here from another country, so everything is brand new.  I help them and their families get oriented to the area, choose a neighborhood and ultimately find a home.  When I started working in relocation, I wasn’t an agent and so had to work with various agents to help my clients get settled.  I spent so much time looking at property that it made sense to take the next steps to become a realtor. 

I’m not originally from Pittsburgh, though I grew up in a little town in an outlying county. I didn’t know anyone when I moved here.  I saw a blurb in the McCandless Town Crier that the fire department was looking for help.  I applied as a volunteer thinking I could stuff envelopes or something.  They didn’t have any envelopes to stuff at the time, so I trained to be a firefighter and rescue diver.  My volunteer experience with them has presented me with many opportunities for personal and professional growth. Most importantly, I met husband through the fire department.    Together we parent two boys.  As a family, we raise goats, chickens and honeybees on an ancestral farm. 

I come to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices with degrees in Organizational Leadership, Communications, and Education.  I have worked in multiple leadership positions and have extensive experience in managing complex situations and communications.  I’m driven, trustworthy and a problem solver.  I would love to partner with you and help you to buy or sell a home.
